A century after the flu pandemic of 1918, the various forms of quarantine around the world have brought about enormous changes in the way we work, and also teach and learn. To what extent these new forms are going to transform education is full of unknowns. This work advocates the realization of an accompanying education from the most significant spaces for citizens: cities as educators. This fact may allow us to overcome the positivism of our rationalist classrooms, with new practices and with new pedagogies, in a framework of freedom and helped by new educational technologies, in search of men and women who learn and enjoy doing it throughout the entire lifetime. This post-pandemic period will clearly be a time of lights and shadows, a time of power struggle to impose educational forms for servitude or liberation. Generating educational spaces where people learn with joy and emotion, in freedom, that accompany the person throughout their lives, must be one of the most anticipated missions of the educating cities of the 21st century.Un siglo después de la pandemia por gripe de 1918, las distintas formas de cuarentena en todo el mundo han provocado enormes cambios en la manera de trabajar y, también, de enseñar y aprender. Hasta dónde estas nuevas formas van a transformar la educación está lleno de incógnitas. Este trabajo aboga por hacer realidad una educación de acompañamiento desde espacios más significativos para la ciudadanía: las ciudades como educadoras. Este hecho puede permitir superar el positivismo de nuestras aulas racionalistas, con nuevas prácticas y con nuevas pedagogías, en un marco de libertad y ayudado de las nuevas tecnologías educativas, en busca de hombres y mujeres que aprendan y disfruten haciéndolo a lo largo de toda la vida. Este periodo de postpandemia será, claramente, un tiempo de luces y sombras, un tiempo de lucha de poder por imponer formas educativas para la servidumbre o para liberar. Generar espacios educadores en donde se aprenda con alegría y emoción, en libertad, que acompañe a la persona a lo largo de su vida, debe ser una de las misiones más esperadas de las ciudades educadoras del siglo XXI.
