Abstract

This research paper presents a theoretical and practical approach to emotional design with the goal of creating a piece of furniture that involves this kind of design specifically so that people may sit and drink wine. Concepts of emotional design, especially those mentioned by Norman (2008), the history of wine, and cork collections are discussed. The paper presents the creation of the piece of furniture as well as alternative designs, the research involved in choosing the best alternative, and changes to the final alternative. This results in an analysis of emotional design.
