Resumen
The objective of the study was to analyze how the teachers of the graduation courses in Pedagogy of Private Higher Education Institutions in the city of Curitiba use the technologies, theoretically and practically, for the training of future pedagogues. The literature review discusses the importance of using technology in education and indicates methodological strategies of teaching in an innovative perspective. In this review, there are also reflections on the process of teachers’ formation, with emphasis on initial training, for the use of educational technologies, containing laws, guidelines and resolutions that guide this study. Lastly, it reviews the published studies about the initial formation of teachers in undergraduate courses in Pedagogy linked to the use of educational technologies. Most of the authors studied are Brazilian or those who study the Brazilian historical-social context. The research was descriptive of the quantitative survey type, carried out in 12 Private Higher Education Institutions of the city of Curitiba, state of Paraná, which have graduation in Pedagogy. The study participants were 114 university professors who teach classes in these courses. The instrument for data collection was the questionnaire, composed of a Likert type scale, three frequency scales and a dichotomous scale. The collected data were submitted to descriptive and multivariate statistics tests, analyzed by Statistica software. The main results showed that the teachers participating in the study understand that the technologies help their work and realize that with these resources new methodological guidelines can be developed. Other results have showed which methodological strategies of teaching most used by teachers are, in addition to those that still need to be explored more. We also observed the fragility of undergraduate courses attended by these teachers, as well as the almost total lack of continuous training courses on the educational technologies provided by the Higher Education Institutions selected for the study. Thus, the research has contributed to come up with a picture of the use of educational technologies in undergraduate courses in Pedagogy of Private Higher Education Institutions of Curitiba. With these data, it is possible to suggest reflections on the theme of teacher training for the use of educational technologies to the educational institutions selected for the study, as well as to other educational institutions.
