Resumen
During drilling operations in oil wells, fluid invasion and lost circulation problems, caused due to the presence of fractures in the well wall, are recurrent. One highly used solution is the use of particulate additives in the sealing of fractures, whose study is a great interest in both the academic and industrial scope. This monograph proposes the construction and validation of an experimental array able to allow the study of various particulate systems flow in rectangular test sections. As products of the project development are presented the conception, specification, construction and assembling of the experimental array, as well as its instrumentation. With the intent of verifying the system operation, some initial tests for the determination of the Reynolds number and the pressure drop in the test section, utilizing water as work fluid. The results obtained in the measurement instruments static calibration and in the preliminary filming and particulate flow tests are shown and documented.
