Abstract
Nowadays, DC – DC converters are widely used in switched regulators of direct-current power sources, whose average output voltage must be controlled to a desired level through on/off controls in the the electronic switching device. Among the several ways of designing such control, the Linear Quadratic Regulators – called LQR's – are noteworthy. They belong to the class of state feedback controllers and were created in 1960 by the mathematician Rudolf Kalman. They are applied when the dynamics of the system is described by a set of linear differential equations, grouped in a matricial form. However, it will be proposed to apply the LQR control technique with a linear matricial inequality structure subject to pole allocation to ensure the stability of the Buck-Boost converter, using the Lyapunov theorem for stability, which will result in the value of state feedback gain that meets the specifications imposed on the inverter.
