Física quântica e sociedade: um estudo prospectivo sobre apropriações conceituais envolvendo misticismo quântico

Abstract

Due to the history of misdirectioning regarding the teaching of physics, many extrapolations about its applications arose since the last century, especially about quantum physics. This work presents a discussion concerning these extrapolations, alongside with its possible causes and consequences. Besides that, a documental search about the content of virtual pages including the keyword "quantum" was made. The results point that a fair share of the content divulged to those outside of the academic ambient leads to misinterpretations regarding the applications of quantum theory, the causes and consequences of these misinterpretations being related to the distance between physics and popular culture and the emergence of charlatanic medical treatments with possible harmful consequences.
