Abstract

This work had as its theme the study of chemistry and its transformations within the discipline of Science in Elementary Education. The objective was to highlight the importance of content in the last year of elementary school, the importance in learning and how students receive the discipline that will be part of the next educational stage. The issues discussed here relate concepts and methodological procedures that are associated with attitudes and values nature and its transformation of the human being and his actions. Finally, this file intends to show the approach of Chemistry in elementary school a more pleasant and less painful way than what we have seen over time and prove to the students and teachers that the teaching of chemistry can and should be much more than a simple discipline, where the objective is to study and memorize formulas concepts created in the distant past. Chemistry is much more than this: come to make sense of daily life, understand why certain important for the survival of plants, animals and human beings and phenomena, especially, improve, and help give meaning to people's lives.
