Análise dos acidentes de trânsito ocorridos em uma grande empresa do sul do Brasil

Abstract

This study aims to diagnose the situation of traffic accidents occurring in 2002 through 2012 employees and vehicles with a large company in southern Brazil. The data provided by the company were organized into year, month , day of the occurrence, causes and consequences of the accident, type of accident, type of road that occurred, the vehicle make and type of vehicle. A statistical correlation analysis of variables, by calculating the correlation coefficient was performed, aiming to identify the relationship of certain variables with the number of accidents. The variables selected for analysis showed the highest number of occurrence and which the company has a direct action on them. The variables are the responsibility of the employee accidents, accidents with material damage, with damage and injuries, accidents caused by carelessness or negligence, accidents with vehicles of a particular make and accidents involving small trucks and small van. It was concluded that most of the chosen variables were strongly correlated with the total number of accidents, and recommended the area of health and safety company direct efforts to manage and reduce these main variables, being able to reduce the total number of accidents.
