Resumen
When it comes to teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language, there are few studies in the academic area, and the present project aims in addition to expand studies, to analyze the reading in a PFOL class. With that, it is possible to evaluate the results of taking literary reading to a Portuguese class for other languages speakers. Some concepts like literacy (ROJO, 2009); literary literacy (PIROLLI, 2013) and reading (RAZET, 2014) were the motivate of the analyses. To take this research, 4 classes of a 100 minutes were ministered in a PFOL class, taking place at the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná. In each one of these classes, a short story from the book "Mistérios de Curitiba”, from the author "Dalton Trevisan", was the theme of the class' study. The answers given by the students were analyzed with the scope of identifying possible progress of understanding throughout the work with the literary texts. The previously selected stories are the following: “Dois Velhinhos” (1 day), “Chuva” (2 days) and O “Leão” (day). The analysis was performed according to the students’ answers to interpretation questions. On the analysis of the collected information, some aspects were considered such as: the ability to relate linguistic structures of the text and the formulated meanings; the ability to recognize/analyze the main theme of a short story and discuss about it; the ability to recognize specific details represented in the short story and connect it with cultural aspects; relating cultural aspects from Brazil/Curitiba/Paraná represented in the short story. It was not sought to correct the questions based on correct or wrong answers, but to analyze if the reading of these short stories were capable of awake a deeper sensibility for a literary reading.
