Elementos musicais da canção popular para produção de sentido no ensino de língua portuguesa

Abstract

This work is intended to contribute to the diffusion of the idea that music, popular song genre, when treated in all its potentiality (music and lyrics), can help in literacy. To present how the meaning of the popular song is produced, we developed a glossary of musical terms to provide knowledge to non-musicians. This glossary includes the following concepts: rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, melodic interventions, tempo, dynamics, expressions of interpretation and articulations. Finally, to show the production of meaning of the popular songs, three songs were analyzed emphasizing how letter and musical elements are organized.
