Levantamento de dados sobre Ostrinia nubilalis (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) para o desenvolvimento de um relatório técnico para profissionais da área agronômica

Abstract

Corn (Zea mays) is an important cereal produced and consumed worldwide. This expressive production is explained by its grains, which are widely used by agribusiness, chemical and food industries. However, this crop suffers greatly from the attack of insect pests, particularly the European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis), which is considered a quarantine insect in Brazil. For prevention and emergency control in case of entry of this insect in the country, it is necessary that we have information of easy access. Therefore, the present project aims to disseminate information about this pest to the Brazilian academic and technical community.
