Características morfométricas da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Floriano, Parque Nacional do Iguaçu – PR

Abstract

This paper presents survey of morphometric parameters of the Floriano river basin, located in the context of the limits of the Iguaçu National Park, which is situated in the extreme west of the state of Paraná, near the mouth of the Iguaçu River basin. This basin has a low degree of human disturbance. Its headwaters are located in the northern part of the park and drainage develops in the North-South direction to its confluence with the Iguaçu River. Survey was conducted on top of the morphometric characteristics through GIS techniques, with support from topographic maps, SRTM topographic data (shutle radar topography mission, 2000). It is expected that the results obtained and evaluated morphometric parameters can contribute to a better understanding of the physical environment, their relationships with planning and future administrations, seeking nature conservation in the region, and better understanding of the structure and functioning of watersheds located in areas of low human disturbance.
