Resumen
This research presents the study, elaboration, assembling, programming and testing of a step-down converter AC-AC converter. The converter can be connected to a 127 volts line grid and provides output voltage varying from zero to 127 volts at a maximum power of 100 watts. It was built based on a DC-DC Buck converter and adapted to AC-AC operation. Its control is made by a micro controlled system. It is controlled identifying the polarity of the power grid. Sinusoidal input voltage is reproduced in the output and decreased. The 100 watts prototype presented an efficiency of 87% and 93.7% for duty-cycles of 50% and 90% respectively.
