Resumen
The following project aims to obtain the best process parameters for Friction Surfacing for application in the manufacture and repair of some aircraft structural components. This process is useful, because is an alternative process of the deposition by fusion the materials, thus, materials that do not have metallic affinity can be joined by a cold deposition process. In this work, the best values of axial force, feedrate and rotational speed were evaluated for substrate and consumable rod made of aluminum AA2023-T3. To obtain the best possible adherence on different substrates and consumables is necessary to adjust the parameters involved in the process. However, the effects of these parameters are complex and the results tend not to be linear, being dependent on the combination of materials. Therefore, for each specific case an in-depth study is needed to analyze the influence of the parameters process. For the treatment of data, a computer program called Minitab was used, providing tables and graphs to the analysis of the results. In addition to finding the best parameters for Friction Surfacing, the influence of these parameters on the deposition width and thickness was also found. A high axial force implies a decrease in the deposition thickness, it was also found that a high feed rate implies a decrease in the width and thickness of the deposit. About the rotation speed, it was observed that its increase implies a growth in width, but a decrease in thickness, so, an intermediate value is necessary to not compromise the deposition.
