Resumen
In this work, we seek to give emphasis about the energy transfer that occurs in a shell and tube heat exchanger. This exchanger is presente on a large scale in petrochemical industries, breweries, gas stations and power plants, so it was the subject of the study. We will approach concepts applied to several areas of thermodynamics as well as concepts restricted to exchangers of this type, such as the Bell Delaware method. As it is an extensive calculus, we developed a didactic spreadsheet using Microsoft Excel that explains, showing step by step, the factor that influence and how they affect the heat transfer, which can be followed by any to understand deeply about shell and tube heat exchanger. In addition to thermal aspects, constructive features such as heads, nozzles, tubes and arrangements, baffles, shell and impact plate will also be mentioned. Taking advantage of Excel and Visual Basic for Application, by the end, we will have dimensioned an ideal heat exchanger to attend the specified.
