Resumen
The present work was developed aiming to bring automation to livestock. In order to apply a heating and temperature control system of water consumed by cattle in a confinement in the city of Imbituva-PR. With an environmental concern, a solar heating system was used, where the water is heated directly by solar radiation. To elaborate the control, Arduino microcontroller was used or combined with some peripherals. Based on EMBRAPA studies, where consumers of heated water had a 10 % more weight gain than they consumed at room temperature. The water temperature was successfully controlled by combining social and environmental responsibility and rural automation. It is noteworthy that the experiment was conducted in a season with higher temperatures than the annual average of the region. In a cold season, it may be possible to use some adjustments to reduce heat loss in the environment, thus avoiding lower system efficiency.
