Abstract

The digital flow counter is widely used to control the flow of people inside the facilities, such us offices, stores and supermarkets. As they have several branches, having the data collected from each specific place, companies are able to identify which hours have more circulation of people inside their buildings. In market there is sophisticated equipment in order to do such counting system, where the mentioned equipment work in conjunction with management software that collect the data and provide statistic reports based on the data collected. But, the high cost to acquire and maintain that equipment makes not viable their installation in some companies or institutions that need government income to buy them. In the objective of developing a project, simpler than the equipment available in the market, but not less effective than a digital flow people control, which is able to do the progressive counting for controlling the students flow that frequent the Library of the Universidad Technologic Federal do Paraná, Câmpus Medianeira.
