Resumen
This curse final paper features biomass from Paraná’s farming industry as an alternative to energy generation on Paraná’s State. Applying a methodology to convert chemical energy (existent on animal and vegetal waste) to electrical energy, described by Coelho, Monteir and Karniol (2012), in historical Paraná’s farming industry production data, it was obtained the electrical generation power curve of Paraná’s mesoregions. The curse final paper has concluded that Paraná has a substantial potential in power generation coherent to farming industry’s biomass, mainly relative to sugar cane, corn and soy production, as well as swine, bovine and chicken herds, with an annual power generation estimated in 121 TWh, being 115 TWh relative to vegetable biomass and 6 TWh to animal biomass. It is worth highlighting that currently the Brazil’s electric energy consumption is around 500 TWh, and 30 TWh in the State of Paraná, evidencing the expressiveness of the farming industry biomass’s electric power generation.
