Resumen
Informations about the nictemeral behavior of lotic ecosystems are rare in water quality monitoring. Nevertheless, a better comprehension of the process that occurs in rivers depends on recurrent and continuous monitoring, since it is dynamic and inter-relates with the environment, which may change its natural characteristics. Still, structural, financial and human resources restrain these studies, and demand a strategy optimized and adjusted to the objectives that were suggested. The legitimacy of the results of a singular sampling depends on the information’s representativity compared to the daily changes on the environment. To elucidate this question, it was studied a sequence of parameters along of 14 hours in Barigui River, Tingui Park, Curitiba-PR. The results suggest significant differences between the sampling, and some parameters show expressive variability during the day.
