Resumen
In case of partial or total loss of an organ or tissue function, there are cases in which it is possible to perform a transplant. Currently the amount of transplants needed is much higher than the number of donors and this problem is aggravated each year with more patients dying on the waiting list. A possible solution to this problem is the biofabrication technology in which it is able to perform the construction of biological structures, such as organs and tissues, using living cells, biomolecules and biomaterials. The mechanical engineering comes with the purpose of designing, developing and making feasible the necessary equipment. With the new biofabrication group being assembled at UTFPR, the focus of this work was the adaptation of a 3D print head to a 3 axis CNC milling machine to be used in future research. For this project, it was necessary to the design, manufacture and install the printing head as well as the complete assembly of the complementary components.Although not performed the printing parameters tests, the adaptation was successful.
