Resumen
With the expressive diffusion of ISO 9001 from the 1990s, it is understood that certification is only one of the steps for the implementation of quality management systems. However, globalization and increased competition require that this system becomes even more robust and constantly updated. In this way, it becomes important to determine the maturity levels of the quality systems of companies with quality systems certification. In this article, the case study is carried out of a small size company with ISO 9001: 2015 certification. We adopt the maturity model proposed by Pereira (2014) that evaluates the maturity in five axes. After applying a questionnaire with the managers of the company, the level of maturity that the company is inserted based on the use of quality tools is identified. Although the proposal by Pereira (2014) suggests that ISO 9001 certification is a tool used to promote the change from level 3 to level 4 of quality maturity, in this case study the conclusion is that this did not occurs. Although the company has ISO 9001: 2015 certification, the level of quality maturity is between levels 1 and 2. Finally, the implications of this discrepancy are discussed.
