Resumen
This document presents a theoretical study and results of computer simulations about the frequency stability problem and automatic generation control (CAG), involving scenarios as a single machine serving a single load variation, multimachine systems and two interconnected control areas. The development of this document includes the dynamic modeling of the elements participating in the electrical system frequency variation for the different scenarios considered. This study considers the use of thermal steam turbine without reheating, addressing in this way the problem and the actions of the types of controllers involved in controlling frequency stability by inputs or system load outputs, which affect the dynamic behavior of the generating units. For the simulations, it was used the SIMULINK tool of MATLAB software, in which it was possible to represent the load-frequency control loop by means of block diagram, considering different scenarios in order to perform the relevant analyzes and conclusions about the subject.
