Análise comparativa entre sistemas de pavimentação urbana baseados em concreto asfáltico e blocos de concreto intertravados (pavers)

Abstract

The present project objective is to produce a comparative analysis between two alternatives for urban paving, the former employing interlocking concrete blocks and the latter asphalt concrete, as outcome. Based on studies of these paving systems technical characteristics, questionnaires have been sent to municipal paving departments in order to evaluate the reasons for poor acceptance of the paver technique. Additionally, it has been conducted a pricing research considering a paving job, which dispends of own hand labor and outsourced equipments, to determine the lower cost execution alternative. It was concluded that interlocking blocks of concrete and asphalt are both solutions that can be employed in urban paving, however demanding considerations about the traffic volume.
