This work conceives and develops a support tool structured spreadsheet, easy to use and affordable platform, which aims to help micro and small companies in the industry to manage projects and scale down air conditioning systems and medium. The main objective is to enable the entry of smaller companies in the market with quality projects development and, consequently, competition with larger companies that operate with robust software. The suggested design methodology and used the tool body is based not only on the literature of regulatory Brazilian regulations, legislation and specialized bibliographies on the subject and the necessary topics (heat load sizing, ducts, diffusers, pressure drop, analysis psychrometric chart, among other physical parameters), but also directions and information extracted engineers experienced in the field. After completing the review, implements the spreadsheet through the design methodology and define the use of the practical example adopted by Carvalho study (2009), which uses a residential room to calculate the heat load by different methods for tool validation. Then, after developing the residential room air conditioning project in the tool takes place the confrontation of data on the results achieved by the tool and the study of Carvalho (2009). In quantitative analysis, it is found that results in thermal load calculation in the tool and the detailed calculation by Carvalho study (2009), 7822.4 BTU/h 8542.0 BTU/h, respectively, are roughly equivalent, with emphasis the small saving provided by the tool due to the careful calculation because it gave a lower value of thermal load and therefore less demand for cooling capacity. Therefore, as the main physical parameters and technical result are similar in both confirms the value and potential of the support tool because of validation and the difference of the existence of several unique features in its structure which, clustered, make it possible to building efficient and complete projects. Finally, it is concluded that it is functional and is able to supply future duly authorized and practical application of micro and small businesses. It is emphasized that support tool is in Appendix B together with the case study developed the project.
