Resumen
The competitiveness of the industry is directly related to the level of reliability of its equipment. An equipment that fails little or that is able to predict its failure with an adequate level of confidence is of fundamental importance for the good results of the company. Reliability engineering has a relevant role in this new scenario and brings tools so that the level of reliability of the equipment or systems can be measured, studied and improved. This work presents the methodology used to perform a reliability optimization study on a bridle roll unit of a galvanizing line in order to compare the reliability data found before and after the improvements made and to evaluate if they were effective or if some modification is still required. For this the system will be modeled using the reliability block diagram. Then the equipment failure data will be analyzed and the reliability metrics determined depending on the model of equipment used. With this known historical data, a probability density function will be determined and with the use of specific software the reliability metrics (Reliability, Availability and MTBF) of the equipment will be determined making available the comparison between before and after the changes made by maintenance team.
