Resumen
This study aims to evaluate the chemical physical treatment by coagulation / flocculation of manure from the sanitary landfill of Campo Mourao, using two different coagulants, Tannin and Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC). The tests were carried out in a bench scale using the Jar Test equipment. It were evaluated parameters such as pH, turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), total solids, suspended solids from the affluent and from the treated effluent. The tannin presents removal up to 73% for apparent color, 99% for turbidity, up to 32% for COD, 68% for total solids and 44% for suspended solids, while the PAC presented values of up to 80% for apparent color, 94% for turbidity, 38% for COD, 63% for total solids and 28% for suspended solids. The best coagulant dosages for tannin are found between 1100 and 1500 mg / L and for the PAC coagulant find themselves in 900 mg / L. It was performed a quantification of the generated sludge for each test, and it was noticed that PAC produces lesser amount. By the end, the generated sludge was dried up and was performed the analysis of the precipitate phosphorous content for further sludge recycling, aiming soils for agriculture. The PAC coagulant obtained higher phosphorous content values than the Tannin, but both are low compared to results of other authors. It was concluded that both coagulants presented satisfactory final results for almost all parameters, however, due to the complexity of manure, it is necessary to combine treatments to achieve results that are in accordance with the requirements in the environmental laws.
