Resumen
The construction industry differs a lot from the manufacturing industry and for that reason; the transfer of concepts from the Toyota Production System becomes an arduous service. This adaptation of the model in the construction industry called Lean Construction (LC). Part of the LC tools focused on visual management (VM) and carry great importance due to the problems arising from the deficiency in communication during the process. The general objective of the study is to carry out a systematic review of visual management, to characterize as main techniques and applications aimed at civil construction. As they are less perceptive, there is a difficulty in adapting the visual management tools of manufacturing for civil construction. In this context, this work aims to facilitate the compaction of visual management within the lean construction. The main objective of the present work comprises an analysis of the bibliography published in the years, referring to visual management. The Systematic Mapping of Literature is a form of study based on evidence from secondary studies, to identify and classify a research related to a certain theme. The articles published under some aspects in order to obtain quantitative data from these publications. The methodology applied to the research resulted in 27 selected articles that satisfied the theme and the study’s proposals. In civil construction, manufacturing practices are passed on to their internal concepts, which in a workforce, labor and materials are an important and valuable resource and in construction there is the greatest waste of use in all sectors and the minimization of this sector if demands as vital. So that engineering practices implement solutions can based on the methodology used, one of them is the application of visual management in civil construction. The visual management taxonomy, the comparison of the elements of the taxonomy, and the levels of implementation of visual management proposed based on the context of the Brazilian civil construction. This investigation explored one of these gaps, the complementarity between visual and non-visual work, necessary to design and operate visual management systems.
