Resumen
Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) is not widely practiced in companies as a way of supporting decision making to maximize the economic life of their assets, reducing costs and increasing availability. Specifically in Brazil, where the average life of the assets is approximately 17 years and the cost with its maintenance is increased, the LCCA becomes an extremely viable tool for asset management. In this context, the present work proposes the use of LCCA methodology to study the economic life of assets of a coil transport system in a steel mill, with the objective of maximizing it and proposing alternative strategies for maintenance, replacement, re-design and disposal, meeting the requirements of budget, reliability, availability and maintainability of the company's maintenance sector. The methodology adopted addresses the use of economic engineering and LCCA, together with reliability engineering, through Life Data Analysis (LDA), Repairable System Analysis (RSA) and modeling of the Reliability Block Diagram (RBD). As a result, it was possible to determine the economic life of the coil transport system by minimizing the total cost to the logo of its expected life, indicating the best year for replacement, determining critical components, simulating scenarios and proposing maintenance strategies to help the company reduce costs and increased competitiveness. In addition to providing the dissemination of knowledge of the adopted methodology, mainly the analysis of life cycle costs for application in future work.
