Resumen
This work presents the study of the bidirectional and unidirectional three-level Boost converters
applied in bipolar dc microgrid. An asymmetrical modulation strategy is adopted, allowing the
circuit to redistribute power between the dc microgrid buses, thus contributing to its balance.
It is proposed a representation of the asymmetrical modulation strategy in terms of common
mode and differential mode components, thus allowing the independent control of the power
processed by the circuit and its distribution between the buses. In the document, the static and
dynamic analyses of both bidirectional and unidirectional topologies are performed, serving as
the basis for the design of the respective power stages and compensators. The results obtained
from the analyses are validated from the testing of two 1 kW and 50 kHz prototypes, which
perform the interface between a +200 V/-200 V DC microgrid and a 96 V voltage source.
