Resumen
The present final paper evaluate the economic viability of the application of solar energy for electric power generation as as alternative supply of an unit of residential consumption in the city of Curitiba, through the use of photovoltaic systems. Since solar energy is abundant, clean, renewable and has the potential to compete in productivity and profitability, it is of great interest to evaluate the applicability of these systems in residences and not just in industrial parks. A theoretical reference will be presented on solar energy, How the photovoltaic cells are composed, the operation of photovoltaic effect and how solar modules are associated. Then the study will be done at a chosen residence, Making data collection as consumption of electric energy, number of residents and their routines, In order to evaluate the energy consumption profile. After this presentation the simulation will be done using the software HomerPro, with the objective of evaluating the installation of a photovoltaic system in the study residence system in the residence under study. Subsequently, budgets will be presented, provided by different companies, with the purpose of analyzing the economic viability of the installation of solar panels, making solar energy an alternative to the energy basically generated by hydroelectric plants in Paraná and thus encourage consumers to have photovoltaic systems in their homes.
