Resumen
This study aimed to indicate locations for monitoring air quality in Maringá, based on the analysis and interpretation of the results of mathematical modeling of the dispersion of air pollutants, using the AERMOD software, which is a Gaussian plume model. In terms of land use and population exposed, the stations monitoring air quality receive the following classification: industrial, commercial, residential, urban background, rural, serve and confinement. The indication of the sites was based on this classification, contemplating, however, only commercial station, industrial, residential and urban background. Thus, the results of the modeling associated with gathering of information about population density and distribution of urban facilities, permitted to indicate sites with characteristics appropriate to receive each category of station. For installation of a commercial station was indicated zone 1. For installation of a industrial station was indicated zone 47. To install an urban background station and residential were indicated the zones 27 and 37, respectively.
