Capítulos da história brasileira: traços do romance histórico em Asfalto Selvagem, de Nelson Rodrigues

Abstract

This work wants to identify elements of the historical novel in Asfalto Selvagem, from brazilian journalist and writer Nelson Rodrigues. Published as a serial novel at Última Hora newspaper from August 1959 to February 1960, year that capital city moved from Rio de Janeiro to Brasília, the book has several political facts as a background to the characters lifes. So, it’s important to question if that book it’s a historical novel or not. Further the main novel, it’s used for the survey O romance histórico, from the hungarian György Lukács and the Marilene Weinhardt’s and Alcmeno Bastos’ works.
