Abstract

The increasing demand for durable goods is forcing the companies to take care about the quality of their products. For example, some companies are offering longer warranties for their products, and this is becoming a requirement by the market. The product quality is directly related to its manufacturing quality and its components. An efficient inspection is needed to verify the quality and accordance of the products. The quality inspection, usually based on statistical sampling, nowadays is commonly performed on 100% of the parts. The image inspection systems, or vision systems, present performance and reliability which attend the industry requirements. This work aims to develop a machine vision inspection software, able to acquire image data from a digital camera and use them to control the quality of an automatic flexible production.
