Resumen
Considering that new technologies are being implemented in the electricity generation sector, such as solar photovoltaic, some studies are necessary for obtaining the best performance of these systems. This generation source contemplates photovoltaic panels, which are exposed to climatic characteristics and receive influence of the dirtiness, according to the environment to which they are located. With the technology advancement, there is also the presence of innovations in the branches of the cleanings that can be used in photovoltaic panels, in order to soften the productivity losses caused by dirtiness. This work’s objective is to determine the optimal time for cleaning photovoltaic panels, aiming high system productivity, having as study’s objects the photovoltaic panels of the Federal Technological University of Paraná (UTFPR) in Curitiba, located at Green Office and Neoville headquarters. In order to evaluate the performance of these photovoltaic panels, it was necessary to verify their merit indices, which are parameters for the comparison about grid-connected photovoltaic systems. Facing these aspects and the dirtiness that implies in the productivity loss of photovoltaic panels, this work made the analysis of several cleaning agents and a study to find out the best interval for the cleaning to maintain the system with high productivity in the photovoltaic panels studied.
