Resumen
The following work has a focus on developing a closed loop control that indirectly regulates the speed of a permanent magnet DC motor for an electric bicycle, maintaining it constant until the user directly requires a new value, besides of any external variations that may be applied to the system. The 350 W motor is powered using a DC source that is connected to a bidirectional DC-DC Cuk converter, developed to work with 90% efficiency, while being controlled by a ´ digital PID controller coded from the Texas Instruments microcontroller TIVA TM4C123G device. The current flows directly from source to motor as from motor to source, which is when the motor starts acting as a generator, characterized as the system’s regeneration. The control-converter system was developed on a printed circuit board, as well as the acquisition and isolation circuits. Efficiency and regeneration tests are detailed and some ideas are made available for implementation in future work.
