Análise da proteção contra incêndio por extintores em edificações multifamiliares: normas, aplicação e viabilidade

Abstract

Due to the population growth and its concentration in large centers, the study, andimprovement of fire-fighting techniques have great importance in the protection ofgoods and especially, lives. Thus, in the present work, comparisons were madebetween the regulations specifying the installation of fire extinguishers in multifamilybuildings in four Brazilian states. To go deeper into the subject, a questionnaire wasapplied to residents of multifamily buildings in order to measure their knowledge aboutthe use of correct extinguishers in specific situations. On the basis of this information,the possibility of changing the composition of an extinguishing unit based on itsmonetary costs and ease usage was verified.
