Resumen
The thermochromism effect is present in various materials such as oxides of vanadium (V), tungsten and titanium, which have in a certain temperature a metal-insulator transition and thus change its properties with phase change. This study investigated the feasibility of these oxides in the manufacture of optoelectronic devices containing the properties of thermochromism. The oxides were synthesized by wet route and deposited in glasses with and without ITO (indium oxide doped with tin) by spin-coating and characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmittance and the surface resistivity measured by the four points probe. The characterizations indicated the formation of the expected film, but thin film. Also was possible to evaluate the differences between the studied configurations and as the thermochromism occurs between them. Samples containing V2O5 showed greater efficiency that samples of WO3, but not enough for making optoelectronic devices.
