Abstract

The solid waste management is discussion topic in many sectors, from production to the improper disposal in landfills or dumps, waste management need to minimize the damage caused to the environment and human health. Lately, the fashion industry has been seeking sustainable alternatives, reusing solid waste in the development of parts and accessories. Scraps from the textile industry, generated in the production process, are transformed in new products, promoting recycling, reducing waste and a profit opportunity. Thus, it is intend to develop a line of work coats directed to employees of schools in Apucarana – Paraná, reusing synthetic waste company Bordados. For a better basis, this study will address aspects of urban solid waste in Brazil and the influence on the design; conceptualize the ecodesign terms and redesign and expose sustainable fashion actions from the reuse of textile residues.
