Avaliação de desempenho dos protocolos HDLC e Frame Relay

Abstract

Due to the broad development of the internet and the increasing necessity in having a computer network more efficient and effective, it is considered important to understand the difference between link protocols WAN to discover which of these protocols best adapts for certain scenarios, such as real-time applications. This paper explores the characteristics of some WAN protocols and analyze practical experiment using simulations in specialized laboratory. The goal is to compare synchronous WAN protocol in different forms of transmission, when changing the size of the windows in the layer of transport. The results are found by testing the Iperf, specialized program for this purpose, which shows data relevant for comparison.
