Resumen
This work had as its theme the democratic management of public schools, presents a theoretical approach reflective about Brazilian public education, focusing on the Colégio Estadual José Alfredo de Almeida (CEJAA) of the city of Mariluz. Discusses the history of education in Brazil, reflects on the relevant legislation and current quality of education offered. It presents data on the performance of Brazilian schools in national examinations, as well as the reality of CEJAA. Based on the literature relevant to the topic, discusses interventions in pursuit of improvement, complemented by interviews with the school community of CEJAA, the study found that the main problems affecting the daily lives of the school. It brings as a result of study reflections on the principles of democratic management, understanding and scores that have actions that will assist in the development of a quality education.
