Resumen
This work presents an analysis of the technical feasibility of the use of supercapacitors to aid Li-ion batteries in electric vehicle drive systems as a complementary energy storage with Li-ion batteries based electric vehicle drive simtems. First, the theoretical foundations of electric vehicles, namely, knowledge of primary and secondary energy storage systems, hybrid energy storage systems, static energy converters and electric machines are presented. In sequence are presented the structure of the drive system of the electric vehicle, its components and configurations, equation and development of the circuits of the static energy converters construction of control strategies. Simulation implementation of the electric vehicle drive system was also developed and carried out using a hybrid and energy storage system containing battery bank and supercapacitors. Finally, an analysis and investigation of the behavior of the system was performed, comparing the behavior between battery, supercapacitor and vehicle activation. After analysis, it was possible to conclude that the use of supercapacitors in the electric vehicle drive system is capable of promoting better conditions for the system primary storage system, such as lower current values and lower loading and unloading rates in a short space of time, making it possible to use it in a wide range of applications.
