Resumen
In the traditional process of structure project, diverse calculation mechanisms are used, requiring, in addition to the manual drawing in boards, the calculation of each element in an analogical way. The use of digital tools can be an alternative in order to reduce the terms and the costs, keeping in mind that the quantitative survey is based in all the variables of the process, and not only in the estimation of the designer. About this issue, this paper has the objective of establishing a comparative evaluation between the use of the structural software which uses the BIM tool and the traditional methods of accomplishment of structural projects. This evaluation was possible after the accomplishment of the project in both the distinct ways, from which were raised 8 analysis parameters of the quantitative on beams, slabs and pillars, in relation with the consume and its cost. Besides them, we estimated the full cost and the time wasted to the accomplishment of the projects. The results showed significant difference in checking the steel, where more variation occurred. These variation, however, eventually turned the percentage difference of the final cost into 2,43% for the traditional project. When the time factor is introduced in the comparison, the use of the software becomes highly feasible, because it was necessary 77 hours and 11 minutes more to accomplish the project in a manual way. Therefore, this research shows that a good option for the project is to unite the quick processing of the software with small interference of the responsible engineer, introducing in the parameters your own knowledge about the execution steps.
