Resumen
The dissertation goal is to correlate contents that include space and memory in its architecture narrative. The first part focus on the post-modern condition, which is, precisely, the difficulty of felling and representing the world we live in. The sensation is of unrealness, leading to emptiness and confusion. Friedrich Nietzsche was the first to deconstruct ocidental values and originated the term “nihilism”, or “the desire of nothing, the disbelief of reason”. In his book “Simulacra and Simulations”, Jean Baudrillard, influenced by Nietzsche, uses a Borges’ short story to decreet the end of real. The second part develops questions and wonders about the relation space-memory. The study of the themes related to restoration are guided by Theseus’ Paradox and the measurable authenticity. The case study - part three - focus on the theoretical-practical of Peter Eisenman, american deconstructivist architect, that has among his main references post-structuralist thinkers, like Jacques Derrida and Jean Baudrillard. The project of Cannaregio by Eisenman in 1978, make use of an old, non-executed project of an hospital, projected by Le Corbusier, with an internal influence to the intervention site and its diagramation. Finally, the old “vilinha” of Nossa Senhora da Luz was revisited, from its origin, and then simulated in digital media, serving as a situation to the restoration project. Metarestoration.
