Abstract

The need for mobility to provide education with quality in cities far from large urban centers requires a robust structure of adapted trailers such as Mobile Units and dedicated trucks to transport these trailers throughout the state. These logistics process costs need to be reduced and the structure optimized to offer courses with attractive price to customers. In order to reduce costs, the first point is having a reduced and highly efficient team, as well as a minimum number of trucks used to move the trailers, not being possible to have backups in case of failure. Allied to this, it’s also necessary to consider the conditions of the state's roads and highways, which interfere directly in vehicles degradation. Vehicle failures and unscheduled maintenance lead to delays and courses cancellations, which in turn impact customer satisfaction and the institution's credibility. In this context, this academic work uses the SAE JA1011 (1999) standard to create a minimum structure necessary for a Reliability Centered Maintenance program implementation in the company's mobile actions area, in order to reduce unplanned maintenance and increase the reliability of systems, reducing risks to operation. The analysis and results obtained demonstrate that it is possible to apply MCC tools without adding costs, which could make it economically unviable, as the standard does not require specific tools and points out how to perform systems analysis and to lead to the creation of a failure management policy. Although the system is not yet fully implemented, it is possible to obtain advantages with the adequacy of the structure and the standardization of maintenance activities following the steps described in the standard.
