Resumen
There are Devices extremely accurate and with high resolution for measuring speed and position of rotating electrical machines. Undoubtedly the encoders are the most commonly used instruments for this purpose, but there are still minor problems that affect the performance of the process, imposing limitations and extra expenses. To minimize these losses, this project will propose to replace the encoders by a system with same purpose, where the main component is Hall effect transducer. With the purpose of analyzing the behavior of these technologies, was developed a system basically consisting on a DC motor, where will be engaged an incremental encoder and an Hall effect transducer. The encoder and Hall transducer send signals to a Data Acquisition Board, which will process the data and send the information to the software installed on a computer. This software displays the waveform of the Hall transducer signals and encoder as well as export data to a spreadsheet in Excel ®. Through the study of the data contained in these spreadsheets, the proposed analysis was made in relation to encoder was verified and the feasibility of using the Hall transducer as a feedback device for position and speed control systems of electric motors, but there are limitations that shall be considered as restricted applications.
