Abstract

This monograph shows the expenses with electric energy due to air leaks in a compressed air distribution network of the company Krona Tubos e Conexões. It presents a system for detecting leaks automatically, with its implementation costs for the cited distribution network. Through the methods of economic and financial analysis of simple payback, NPV and IRR, it compares the annual expenses with electricity generated by the leaks, with the value of the investment to install the system, showing that its implantation is feasible.
