Resumen
With the increase of the population rate living in the urban environment of Brazil, which has started on middle of the twentieth century, in most cities there was a disorly growth and a poor planning by the public power. That problem had increased the rate of the surface waterproofing that was adopted for the water management system, only throwing the water downstream by the drainage system. This action had cause damage to the river bed due the large volume of water, generating floods and damages to the public and private assets. Thereby, it is necessary to decrease the volume of rainwater into the drainage system, a way to do that is increasing the permeability of the soil that can drain and store the rainwater, reducing thus the flow peak. The objective of this work is to compare the conventional pavement with the paver pavement and ecological pavement in the areas of the city of Campo Mourão - Paraná, Brazil, in order to verify the difference of the flow rate in each case through the equation of the rainfall obtained from Fendrich (1998), Arantes et al (2009) and the parameters provided by the program Plúvio 2.1, allied to the use of the Rational method calculation and maps obtained from the Department of Planning of the city of Campo Mourão. In this way, it was obtained that the paver drain 13,7% less and the ecological floor creates a 63,7% smaller rainwater volume, which can reduce the total load to the drainage system, avoiding maintenance damages, expansion of this system, and reducing the risk of floods in the the central area of the city during heavy rains.
