Comportamento materno filial de ovelhas para a produção de cordeiros

Abstract

Over the years, sheep farming has been an activity of great interest to farmers throughout Brazil, from second to first activities within the properties. Always looking for information and technologies to produce meat, milk and wool with the best quality and obtaining a good profitability in this animal bredding. This study was carried out at the Technological Federal University of Parana - Dois Vizinhos, and was have the purpose of evaluating some influences on the weaning of the animals, evaluating the behaviors of the sheep and their offspring from gestation to weaning. The evaluation in the period of winter and summer, the measures was evaluated is the length of the animals, thoracic circumference and the navel, also will be measured croup height and withers, aiming to perform animal selection for lamb production in different seasons of the year. With the analysis ended, comparing the treatments summer and winter, we obtain not significant results for to elucidate in which seasons of the year will be an ideal choice not to get better lambs development. In the winter the results are better due to the animal handling with more care, on the summer the animal handling had some complications, impairing the results.
