Resumen
The large demand for energy, coupled with the growing deforestation, lack of wood for the production of heat and reforested areas, it meant that there was a growing demand for industries by woods that were suitable for burning use for heat production and obtain size harvest at the shortest possible time. Thereby, began a sequence of reforestation, to order to produce wood with allocation to industries. The Eucalyptus, obtain high adaptation to the region, have high growth rate and be good for burning it was one of the most used species for field deployment of reforestation. Also, as an alternative income source for the areas where the crop of annual species (such as soybeans, corn, wheat, etc.) it's inappropriate, obtaining the maximization the use of the area and economic gain. The goal of this work it was to measure the effect of different spacings between plants, and the growth rate and wood production in each gap over the years, because is of paramount importance the areas of deployment with correct spacing, depending on the purpose of practice. Was used 4 different spacings to compare and set the growth rates of Eucalyptus in question in the Paraná Southwest region. The defined spacings were: 3 x 3 m ( 9 m²) ; 3 x 2 m ( 6 m²) ; 2 x 2 m (4m²); 1,5 x 1,5 m (2,25 m²). Over the years, it has been accompanied the effect of each different spacing growth of the Eucalyptus area and note the differences in each evaluation. The planting of seedlings occurred in 2008, and the evaluations are being made annually. This was seventh evaluation of the effects of spacings in diameter at breast height (DBH), volume per plant and volume per area. The obtained results were subjected to analysis of variance, and after submitted to Tukey test at 5% probability. In the early years competition does not affect much the initial development of the seedlings. Currently, 8 years after planting the plants do not show differences in the DBH and volume per plant. But in the volume per area factor, there was differences, and the best results were found in the smallest spacings, due to the higher number of plants per area.
