Resumen
Seed quality can be evaluated by a set of indices determined by the analysis of seeds with the representation of a sample per lot. This study aimed to develop tetrazolium test protocol to assess the viability and vigor of mimosa white seeds (Anadenanthera colubrina (Vell.) Brenan. To standardize the tetrazolium test was used two lots of seeds, evaluated different preconditioning conditions, concentrations, exposure times and color of seeds under temperature of 30°C and in the absence of light. From this analysis, it was elaborated for the species a diagram viability classes. for comparison of the results obtained with the tetrazolium
test was used the standard germination test. the experimental design used to standardize the tetrazolium protocol was completely randomized (DIC) in a factorial scheme (2 x 5 x 5) lots x concentration x exposure times. For each treatment was performed four repetitions of 25 seeds. The results obtained in tetrazolium tests were compared by Tukey test at 5% probability and linear regression. For preconditioning for A.colubrina seeds it is recommended to use paper germitest (EP) moistened with three times its weight for 4 hours at 30°C temperature. To assess the feasibility of A.colubrina seeds is recommended to contetração of 0.5% tetrazólido solution for 4 hours of exposure in the dark at a temperature of 30°C. The lot II from the collection in 2015 performed better viability when compared to lot I of collections made in 2014.
